If you are driving
- Via De' Correggi is inside the ZTL, active 24 hours a day and camera-enforced: without a permit the fine reaches you by post weeks later.
- We handle the daily pass: €10 per day. Send us the plate and your dates and we register it before you arrive.
- Alternatively, the public parking on Viale Vittorio Veneto is about a hundred metres away, outside the zone: blue bays, paid at the meter or with EasyPark.
- Arriving by train? It is a five-minute taxi from the station to the door.

This is the flat the food theme starts from. How to book Osteria Francescana explains the booking-window mechanism, which is the real difficulty: you do not find a table, you wait for one. Franceschetta 58 is the same family's bistrot, with a €64 tasting menu and none of the hunt.
For the rest there is where to eat in Modena and the Lambrusco wine bars — the thing people drink here, and almost only here.

- Osteria Francescana opens its bookings in windows, and needs watching months ahead. Trattoria Aldina is lunch only and takes no reservations. In August several trattorias close for the holidays.

How close is Osteria Francescana, really?
A three-minute walk. It is the closest place to the Francescana you can book in the city: out of the door, round the corner, and you are in via Stella. The table is still the hard part — bookings open in windows and need following months ahead.
